1. How do I cancel a hotel booking?

There are two easy ways to cancel.
 - You can cancel your booking online by sending an immediate request by clicking here or
 - Contact our customer support desk at sales@lakpura.com

2. When will I be charged for my booking?

This can vary depending on the hotel and the time of year you are booking. Please pay close attention to the Booking Information and Terms & Conditions provided at the time of booking.

3. What do I need to check in at the hotel?

It's always a good idea to bring your Lakpura Reservation Number. Reservation Number are provided after booking.

In the event that you forgotten to carry your voucher with you, the hotel will have your name on file. If you experience any problems during check-in, please contact us at sales@lakpura.com

4. What should I do if I missed my hotel check-in deadline due to a cancelled flight?

Contact us at sales@lakpura.com and we will do everything we can to get your trip back on track.

5. Can I make a hotel booking for someone else?

When entering "Guest Information" be sure to use the name of the person who will be travelling. Then, input your details in "Billing Information".

6. What credit or debit cards can I use for hotel bookings?

Accepted credit cards are listed as options when you are about to make your payment. In general, all major credit cards are accepted. If you have additional questions, prefer to fax or call in your card details, or would like to use a card that is not listed, please write us at sales@lakpura.com

7. Can I cancel my group hotel booking online?

For group bookings, including changes and cancellations, please contact us at sales@lakpura.com

8. Why are all your Hotels prepaid?

Prepaid reservations allow hotels to extend their deepest discounts. By prepaying your reservation you are assured that the rate paid is secured and that you will not be subject to room rate increases.

The hotel room is charged to your credit card at the time of the booking. Hotels typically collect payment information separately for incidentals such as mini bar, movies and phone calls. Cancellation terms and fees apply to prepaid bookings.

9. If I check out early on a reservation, can I obtain a refund for the nights I did not stay?

Upon arrival and check-in at a hotel, you are responsible for consuming the entire length of stay. No refunds or credits will be issued for any nights reserved, but not consumed.

10. Explain RO, BB, HB, FB, AI?

RO - This stands for "Room Only". You can expect a room without any meals to be provided.

BB (or B&B) - This stands for "Bed and Breakfast". You can expect a room, plus a breakfast in the morning. Drinks are not included.

HB - This stands for "Half Board". You can expect a room, plus a breakfast in the morning and usually an evening meal. Drinks are not included. A few hotels will allow you to substitue the evening meal for a midday meal in the form of a packed lunch, but this is unusual. Please check with the individual hotel if you require this.

FB - This stands for "Full Board". You can expect a room, plus the three main meals of the day to be provided. Drinks are not included.

AI - This stands for "All Inclusive". You can expect a room, plus the three main meals of the day to be provided. Drinks are included, but the drinks offered will vary depending on the hotel.

11. Do I need to make the full payment before I arrive in Sri Lanka?

Yes, please.

Local agents (Travel agents based in Sri Lanka engaged in Inbound Tourism to Sri Lanka)

Lakpura Travels (Pvt.) Ltd., Moratuwa, Sri Lanka is a registered entity at Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, the state arm or rather, the governing body of the tourism in Sri Lanka. The registered travel agents are legally entitled to lowest room rates on confirmed (100% guaranteed) room bookings from the hotels in Sri Lanka. On the other hand, the registered travel agents are legally bound to make the full payments, in advance of the arrival of guests, to the hotels. In view of this mutually beneficent arrangement, we are compelled to request our clients to make the full payment on room charges.

Once the full payment on room charges are settled with our agency, we make the necessary payment to the hotel in turn, and our client is guaranteed with hotel room confirmations. The job is done.

Secondly, we being a local travel agent, being on the destination, are geared to extend further assistance, if required, during your holidays in Sri Lanka

Commission Agents (Web based retailers located nowhere near the destination, selling Sri Lanka Hotel rooms on-line)

Most of the Commission Agents are pure online traders without an office in Sri Lanka. These on-line sellers market hotel rooms they most possibly have never witnessed, secure a so called reservation for a small fee of USD 10 or and release a hotel room confirmation voucher on-line to the client.

Now their client having arrived in Sri Lanka, expecting to pay the final payment at the hotel, may find no rooms available at all. The voucher may not be honored. Of course this wouldn’t be the case all the times. But then the probability could be significant, especially during the season. We take it that, what can go wrong, will go wrong.

Now the excuses would galore: communication failure; late arrival of client; incorrect hotel. You will never know. And you have no one to turn to. You have no one at your destination.
